Fog Across The Field

Fog Across The Field copyright Gale Rainwater

Hello I made it out one morning recently and took this image in a local park near where I live. It isn’t a colorful national park image that I love to take so I decided the black and white was nice. I appreciate any comments and if you enjoy my images please take a minute and vote for my site. Thank you.

Sunrise at Mono Lake, California

landscape photography of Sunrise at Mono Lake, California copyright Gale Rainwater

This is an image from a sunrise at Mono, Lake in California. Mono Lake is a terminal lake in a watershed fed from melting runoff with no outlet. Dissolved salts in the runoff thus remain in the lake and raises the salt concentration. The unique formations in the lake are called tufa towers and make the lake very unique to photograph.

Reflection of Longs Peak at sunrise in Bear Lake, Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado

Reflection of Longs Peak at sunrise in Bear Lake, Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado

This is a landscape photography image of a reflection of Longs Peak at sunrise caught at Bear Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park near Estes Park, Colorado. I was traveling home from my trip to Grand Teton and spent the night in Rocky Mountain National Park. It was in early October 2007 and I was very disappointed not to see any snow on Beautiful Longs Peak. Longs Peak rises to 14,259 feet, one of Colorado 14er’s and is the highest point in Rocky Mountain National Park. Bear Lake is one of Rocky Mountain National Parks most popular attrations. To reach Bear Lake simply take Bear Lake Road to the beautiful lake. Thanks for looking and any comments or votes are greatly appreciated.
