Palouse Falls – Landscape Photography by Gale Rainwater

Sunrise at Palouse Falls in eastern Washington state. I photographed this in May of 2010. It is a huge waterfall 189 feet. I happen along the video of Tyler Bradt running this in his kayak. A world record run! Pretty crazy stuff but I respect his bravery and talent. I must admit as a paddler (I used to kayak alot) whenever I go to photograph these beautiful waterfalls. I often think to myself “I wonder if anyone has run this”  or “What line down that rapid or waterfall would you take to run this” It’s a paddlers thing, kind of like how would I photograph that to a photographer.

Thank you Ed. Yes that is crazy. He could of easily been in a wheelchair or worse the rest of his life. That is a big drop taller than Niagra Falls BTW.
