While on my last trip I made an afternoon and sunset out to Monument Valley for some landscpape photography. Monument Valley is located on the Arizona Utah border and is part of the Navajo Nation Tribal Park. The park is owned and run by the Navajo people. There are several guided tours in the park. All I took the time for was the self guided tour and I was very impressed by the beauty of the valley. If you enjoy my photography a comment or vote for my blog would be greatly appreciated.

Snow in Grand Canyon National Park

Snow in Grand Canyon National Park copyright Gale Rainwater

Hello my first day in Grand Canyon was a beautiful snowy day. The only thing is the entire canyon was filled with a foggy cloud and you could not see anything down in the canyon. Finally right at dusk it began to clear. I headed for the rim and shot this image east of Mather Point. I was dissappointed there wasn’t more snow down in the canyon itself. With the great depth of the Grand Canyon it is much warmer at the bottom there wasn’t much sticking down there. Thanks for looking and any comments or votes are appreciated.

Hello I wanted to show the image I use as my avatar on most forums etc. I post on. Avatars are often so small you can’t make out what it is sometimes so I wanted to show a slightly larger view to show a little more detail. Hawksbill Crag also known as Whitaker Point in the Upper Buffalo Wilderness Area in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas, My home state. This is an image I took so this is not me on Hawksbill Crag just a hiker enjoying the beautiful fall color of the Ozark Mountains. This is another one of my favorite places and many others in Arkansas. The trail is a great hike for everyone. The hike is around three miles round trip and the entire trail is very scenic especially in the Autumn when the trees are in full bloom of their fall color.

Autumn on Frog Bayou

Frog Bayou in Autumn copyright Gale Rainwater

Hello, This spot on Frog Bayou is one of my favorites. Most of all it is very close to where I live in Fort Smith, Arkansas only a short drive and walk. The color was not a good as in 2006 but I still got some good light down the creek to light up the leaves.
These are panorama so the detail is much greater in a larger view. I hope you enjoy and comments appreciated.
